Guided Tours In The Vale Of Evesham

We are an established and reputable group of volunteer tour guides promoting the beautiful Vale of Evesham

At the heart of the Vale is the River Avon, its valley bounded by Bredon Hill and the Cotswolds. For centuries, the fertile soils of the Vale have supported vibrant communities that are renowned for fruit growing and market gardening. Today the Vale is famous for its beautiful scenery, spring blossom, wonderful asparagus, autumn fruits, historic villages and busy market towns.

We look forward to welcoming you for walking tours, guided coach tours and even trips on the river.

Tours and Services

Guided Town Walks

One of our guides will guide you through your chosen market town in the Vale of Evesham. Tours normally last for an hour or so.

Evesham lies in a loop of the River Avon and is famous for the ruins of its Abbey, once one of the most important in the country. The town commemorates the Battle of Evesham in one of the biggest battle reconstructions in Europe.

Pershore also lies on the banks of the River Avon and is famed for its Plum Festival at the end of August.

Broadway is one of the gateways to the Cotswolds and one of the most beautiful villages in England. With many shops, cafes and restaurants there is much to explore.

Blossom Tours

In late March and early April, the Vale bursts into renewed life as fruit blossom covers the vale.

We support coach tour operators and private groups with a guide who will board your coach and guide you through highways and byways of the Vale.

Different fruit species flower at different times in the spring. We know which trees are in fullest bloom and can make sure your group is treated to the best show.

Combine your tour of the vale with a visit to one of our market towns. Broadway for coffee, perhaps or Pershore for lunch.

Plum Tours

After the beauty of the spring blossom, the richness of the fruit harvest starts with the plums in August.

Many groups like to visit a plum orchard to buy plums, or to “PYO”. Hipton Hill Community Orchard provides a beautiful hillside location with outstanding views of the Northern Vale and the Cotswolds.

The orchard is a community project and grows rare and unusual breeds of plums that can be picked or simply bought on site.

About Us…

In the late 1990s an enthusiastic group of people completed a "Guiding" course at the local College and eventually became Green Badge Guides recognised by the Heart of England Tourist Board. These dedicated volunteers devised walking tours of Evesham and these proved so popular that they were soon taking place several times a week.

Other types of tours were quickly added to the schedule. Most of our work is now with coach tour companies that use the Tour Guide group to accompany their visits to the Vale of Evesham. Commentary on the coach brings the geography and history of the Vale to life.

As a voluntary group, the number of guides ebbs and flows with the years. For nearly 30 years the tour guides have continued to provide their services.
